DRIVE - Driver Evaluation
Sports medical analysis of the fitness level
At the beginning of each evaluation is always the examination of the actual fitness level by cardiologists and sports medicines like Dr. Radosav Djukic from Spartamedic. This includes the detection of sports physiological characteristics. Based on the results, training plans are created, which help to steadily improve the physical fitness condition.
Blood analysis before and after the exercise load
The blood provides a deep insight into bodily processes and provides many other parameters to judge the current state. The sports medicine specialists of the FTRC examine different values and check them regularly to document the training progress of the athlete and make adjustments to the training plan.
Psychological analysis and coaching
The sport psychologists of the FTRC also deal with the mental condition and the character of the athlete. Many athletes are indeed physically well trained, but have little to no experience to prepare mentally for extreme situations. This often leads to nervousness or even fear of competition, which also conducts to performance degradation. For an initial inventory, standardized questionnaires are used to record tendencies towards fear, confidence, competition and goal orientation and personality traits. Based on these results, the psychologists develop action models. The coaching also includes communications trainings, training of the team spirit, media training, leadership skills and the development of social competences.
Training of technical understanding
A comprehensive, technical understanding of the racing car is crucial for the way up to the podium. On the one hand, the driver needs to know why his car behaves in a certain way in order to act properly. On the other hand, it is important for the performance that a precise communication between driver and engineer is given. The theoretical knowledge transfer also includes the data analysis and teaching of all relevant technical components.
Training in a professional racing simulator
Part of the training of the Fast Track Racing Center is the regular use of an onsite racing simulator. The FTRC is able to simulate any racetrack in the world and every racing car from the Formula- and GT-racing. The engineers of the FTRC follow in real time all data, such as line management, brake and shift points, as well as braking aggression on the monitor. Thus, a detailed error analysis and direct feedback are provided and the driving style can be improved. The professional simulator is also used to prepare for tests and races.
Gain experience in testing on the most demanding circuits in Europe
Of course the real circuit is part of the training, too. For this part of the training, the FTRC has access to cars from the GT sports. With the support of a professional team of mechanics, technicians, tire experts and engineers, the athlete develops a feeling for the vehicle, track, grip and centrifugal forces. The on-track assessments unites for the first time all previous components (physical and mental fitness, driving style of the racing simulator) of the Fast Track Racing Center. Through previous trainings, the track time can be optimally utilized, which saves additional costs.
